The organisations with which the MEDIA CIRCLE consortium will join forces with in the advocacy activities have been selected

The MEDIA CIRCLE consortium has selected six nongovernmental grassroot organisations with which it will join forces with in the advocacy activities that follow in the upcoming months, especially those regarding the results of the new measuring of the Media Clientelism Index.

We have received a total of 23 project proposals. The following proposals from nongovernmental organisations have been chosen: Udruga za promicanje civilnog društva, medijske kulture i razmjene informacija – TRIS (Association for promoting civil society, media culture and information exchange – TRIS) from Croatia, Udruženje StarMo (StarMo Association) from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Vojvodinian Civic Centre – VCC from Serbia, Association Initiative for independent cultural activism – INCA from Macedonia and Center for Independent Journalism and Eurolife from Romania.

The selected organisations will, each in their own way, carry out activities directed at increasing the reach and impact of the findings of the MEDIA CIRCLE project, especially the Media Clientelsim Index and the stories of investigative journalists published on the news portal Fairpress.eu. In doing so, special attention will be dedicated to spreading the results and the Fairpress articles via social media/networks and local/national media.

To recall, we published a public Call for proposals on September 1 this year. We aimed at proposals which respond to the needs of the advocacy activities that refer to media clientelism, media freedoms, media ethics, as well as beneficial media ownership.
